In a move that surprised even some of our friends at Greenplum, EMC became their new employer last month as reported in El Reg:

and DBMS2:

Curt Monash posted the following after meeting the folks at both EMC and Greenplum:

We’ve been fans of Greenplum since meeting Luke and Scott whilst still in pre-Greenplum ‘Metapa’ days at a Teradata Partners show in Seattle. It is an MPP play after all, how could we not like it!
Let’s hope EMC propels Greenplum’s to a wider audience. That’s all that’s been lacking so far from where we’re sat.
Good luck chaps!
P.S. For anyone that wants to try Greenplum we has a demo MPP system at VLDB Solutions.
